As a Registered Nurse of over 20 years varied clinical experience, I am an advocate for relative , proper diagnosis & treatment that matches a disease process. A General Physician cannot cure or treat specialist required diagnosis requiring a specialist's expertise and care such as: Oncology = Cancer, Cardiac Care= Cardiologist, Endocrine Diseases= an Endocrinologist (even within specialties there are specialists who treat sole diagnosis: Diabetes Care, Cushing's, Etc) Etc. With all due respect, I do not see the point of declining specialist care in this case, something as unique as EHLERS DANLOS SYNDROME, requires specialist care and specialist treatment. This is like throwing the baby out with the bath water. Please, do not make a bad situation worse.
Kindest regards,
Suzette Jacqueline Avneri, RN
