PokerStars Flags 2 APPT Events In Okada Manila In 2024

Online poker site operator and track and field poker tournament organizer PokerStars said it will host two Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) events this year at the casino resort in the Philippine capital, Okada Manila.

APPT Manila 2024 Guaranteed Prize pool is PHP 119 million (W2.15 million). It will be held at Cove Manila, Okada Manila.

The prize pool covered by the APPT Manila Championship is 140 million PHP, and the gathering will be held at the Corral Lounge in Okada Manila, according to an update from PokerStars on Friday.

The announcement included prepared remarks from Byron Yip, President and Chief Operating Officer of Okada Manila. He said: "The partnership [with Fokestars] highlights our position as one of Asia's premier gaming and entertainment venues, a testament to our ongoing initiatives to transform Manila into the leading destination for the most exciting entertainment."

Cedric Billot, PokerStars' deputy director of live events, also said: "The APPT circuit was founded in 2007 and quickly became a reference tour in Asia thanks to its organization and amazing location."

"The 2024 APPT Manila... is one of the largest APPT [gatherings] ever," he said, adding, "It is only spectacular to be held in the new conference space of the Okada [Manila] Casino."
