Liverpool draw with Manchester United

Liverpool, which is competing for the title in the English Premier League, lost its chance to reclaim the lead with a draw in the "North West Derby" against Manchester United.

Liverpool drew 2-2 with Manchester United in the away match of round 32 of the 2023-2024 EPL at Old Trafford in Manchester, England.

It was a must-have for Liverpool, which is fiercely competing with Arsenal and Manchester City to win.

Manchester United were sluggish with one win, one draw and three losses in their previous five games, so this derby was an opportunity to collect three points for Liverpool, which had been on a two-game winning streak.

Liverpool, however, failed to regain their lead as they ended up in a draw due to a lack of goal-scoring ability.

Liverpool has the same points as Arsenal 71 points, +51 goals, but is in second place, behind in goal difference +42 goals.

Right behind them, Manchester City 70 points, which is trying to win four consecutive league titles, is following.

Arsenal beat Brighton 3-0 and Manchester City beat Crystal Palace 4-2 in this round, but Liverpool were the only ones to fail to secure victory.

Liverpool led 62%-38% in ball possession and dominated 28-9 in shooting, but missed a number of scoring opportunities.

Liverpool scored the first goal in the 23rd minute when Luis Díaz finished Darwin Núñez's header pass from a corner kick with a right-footed half-volley shot.

Then United balanced the game with Bruno Fernandes' ultra-long-range goal in the fifth minute of the second half.

Fernandes shook the net by boldly shooting from the center circle after confirming that Liverpool goalkeeper Quibin Kelleher was moving forward a lot in front of the net.

In the 22nd minute of the second half, Manchester United made a 2-1 comeback with Kobe Mainu's right-footed shot.

Liverpool could barely claim a point in the 39th minute with Muhammad Salah's penalty goal.

Earlier, Liverpool's Harvey Elliott was tripped by Aaron Wan-Bissaka's tackle, and the referee declared a penalty.

Liverpool's decisiveness didn't survive until second-half stoppage time.

In the 49th minute of the second half, Díaz connected Andy Robertson's header pass with a non-stop shot from the front of the goal area, and the ball soared ridiculously above the net.  안전놀이터 추천
